Kiwi’s training starts with you

It takes over $60,000 and two years to train an Assistance Dog. Without generous supporters like you, many people with disability miss out.

From 8 weeks old, each puppy begins training with our expert trainers and volunteers, building the skills, confidence, and socialisation needed to change a life.

A Training Starter Pack – with a lead, collar, blanket, toy and learner jacket – gives every pup the best start.

By 14 months, they move into Advanced Training, mastering cues tailored to their future human partner.

At graduation, each dog is carefully matched with someone on the waitlist, empowering them to live a more independent, confident and connected life.

From playful puppy to hero Assistance Dog, your donation makes every step possible.

Meet Team Francesca & Goldie

Meet Team Francesca & Goldie

Francesca has just turned 19 and is studying a diploma in Fashion Business at TAFE, dreaming of designing ball gowns and travelling the world

She also lives with ADCY5, a rare condition affecting her muscle tone and movement, and uses a wheelchair for mobility. For a long time, everyday was hard and her world felt very small — until Goldie came into her life.

Matched as her Assistance Dog, Goldie quickly became her confidante, shadow, and best friend, giving her the confidence to go out, have picnics, and simply be a teenager.

As her mum Angelina says, “Goldie has given Francesca self-esteem, she’s given her purpose in life.”

Goldie’s steady, loving presence is the reason Francesca now faces the world with a smile.

Will you help someone with disability experience the same life-changing bond as Francesca and Goldie?

Assistance Dogs Australia's impact

Assistance Dogs Australia (ADA) is dedicated to helping people with disability experience meaningful change in their daily lives, with a loyal companion by their side.

We breed, train, and place internationally-accredited Assistance Dogs at no cost to people with physical disability, autism or PTSD.

200+ Assistance Dogs are currently working in the community across Australia.

To meet the huge demand for Assistance Dogs, ADA urgently needs to train DOUBLE the number of promising puppies, ready for their life-changing futures. But we can't do it alone.

Together, we can give Australians with disabilities greater independence, wellbeing and connection.
